Sobe Rehab Announces Statewide Humana In-Network Coverage
We are pleased to share that Sobe Rehab is now officially in-network with Humana across the state of Florida, including Medicare Advantage and Florida Medicaid plans—effective January 1, 2026.
This agreement expands access to high-quality PT, OT, and ST services for Humana members statewide.
For ALF leadership teams, this new agreement means easier onboarding, smoother authorization processes, and a streamlined experience for residents who already trust Sobe Rehab as their therapy provider. Humana members will now have direct access to expert, patient-centered therapy that promotes independence, stability, and engagement within their community.

As Florida’s largest ALF Part B provider, our mission has always been to make comprehensive therapy accessible to the seniors who need it most. Becoming an in-network provider with Humana strengthens this mission and enables us to support even more residents with consistent, high-quality care.
We look forward to working closely with ALFs and caregivers across the state as we prepare for this important launch. Thank you for supporting our efforts to expand therapy access for seniors statewide.

Celebrating A Year of Growth and Meaningful Impact
Celebrating Sobe Rehab’s 2025 Milestones
As we reflect on 2025, Sobe Rehab is grateful for a year filled with progress, expanded services, and deeper partnerships with the Assisted Living Facilities we proudly support across Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Every achievement this year has been connected to our mission of delivering exceptional therapy services where seniors live and thrive.
Expanded Access Through HMO Managed Care Plans
One of this year’s most important advancements was the expansion of our insurance networks. Sobe Rehab now accepts a broad range of HMO Managed Care plans, including AvMed, CarePlus, Cigna, Devoted, Clear Health Alliance, Curative, Solis, Sunshine, Simply, Elevance, WellPoint, and Commercial ACA plans. This update allows thousands of seniors across Florida to receive PT, OT, and ST services with fewer barriers and easier access to the care they need.
Whether a resident is working on balance, mobility, strength, or recovery after illness or surgery, our licensed therapists are ready to bring personalized and compassionate therapy directly to their ALF community.
Earning Recognition as Florida’s Largest ALF Part B Therapy Provider
In 2025, we reached a defining milestone by becoming Florida’s largest provider of PT, OT, and ST services within Assisted Living Facilities. This achievement reflects the trust ALF Executive Directors, Wellness Nurses, and care teams have placed in us for dependable coverage and high-quality therapy outcomes.
Serving Our 8,000th Patient
This milestone represents thousands of seniors who received personalized therapy designed to promote strength, confidence, and independence. Each resident we serve inspires us to continue building programs that support long-term well-being inside ALF communities.
Expanding Our Services to Include Personal Injury Protection In-Home Therapy
This year, we also introduced therapy for Personal Injury Protection clients, providing convenient in-home support for individuals recovering from automobile-related injuries. This expansion allows us to serve a broader range of patients while supporting partnerships with law firms and insurers across the region.
Growing Our Footprint Across Three States
Sobe Rehab continued its growth in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, strengthening relationships with ALFs and ensuring residents have consistent access to therapy that enhances mobility, communication, safety, and daily participation.
As we enter 2026, our commitment remains the same. We will continue supporting ALF communities with reliable staffing, expert clinical care, and a team dedicated to helping residents maintain independence and quality of life every day.
Celebrating the Holidays Safely: Tips for Seniors to Stay Active and Independent
The holidays are a wonderful time of year, no matter your age. But for seniors, all that joy and connection can also be potentially draining. Between decorating, visiting with loved ones, and celebrating at community events, the season brings a lot of extra activity that can increase the risk of falls or fatigue.
Fortunately, a few practical tips can go a long way toward helping seniors and their caregivers have a safe and enjoyable holiday season. Here are some strategies from the Sobe Rehab physical, occupational, and speech therapists to help you make the most of the season.

Seven Simple Tips for Happy Holidays
1. Keep Moving, Even in Small Ways
Movement is the best gift you can give your body. Even brief periods of activity can improve circulation, boost energy, and support joint mobility. You or your loved one might try:
- Walking to see the holiday lights around your community
- Standing up and stretching every 30–45 minutes while watching TV or socializing
- Participating in group exercise sessions, such as chair yoga or balance classes
- Using light resistance bands to strengthen arms and legs
2. Make Your Space Safe for Celebrations
Festive decorations can brighten the mood, but they can also create tripping hazards if not placed carefully. A few safety checks go a long way:
- Keep walkways clear of cords, gift bags, or low decorations
- Use sturdy, non-slip rugs or remove small area rugs altogether
- Add extra lighting near entrances, stairs, and bathrooms
3. Support Balance to Stay Confident
As we age, the body’s balance system (which includes the eyes, inner ear, muscles, and joints) requires regular stimulation to remain sharp. Our physical therapists can help seniors improve this system so they can be more independent during holiday celebrations. We might suggest:
- Standing on one foot while brushing your teeth (hold on to the counter for balance)
- Heel-to-toe walking along a hallway
- Practicing sit-to-stand exercises from a sturdy chair
- Gentle weight-shifting side to side while holding onto a counter

4. Stay Hydrated, Even Though It’s Cool Outside
Cooler weather and busy schedules can make it harder to stay hydrated. Unfortunately, dehydration can increase fatigue and impair balance and focus. Encourage regular hydration by:
- Keeping a reusable water bottle nearby
- Adding lemon or berries for flavor
- Eating water-rich foods like soups, oranges, or spinach
5. Engage Your Mind and Voice
Our speech and cognitive therapy aren’t just for recovery. They help keep the brain sharp and communication clear, which makes it easier to stay engaged in your community. We recommend these brain-boosting activities:
- Singing along to favorite holiday songs
- Read your favorite holiday story aloud to a grandchild or neighbor
- Work on a seasonal jigsaw puzzle with friends
- Make some holiday cards for your loved ones
6. Rest and Recharge Mindfully
Remember, it’s essential to take time to rest after a busy day, as quality sleep and quiet time help the body rebuild and strengthen. Seniors benefit from structured routines that include movement during the day and restful habits at night. Achieve health rest with these tips:
- Maintain consistent bedtime hours
- Avoid caffeine in the evening
- Keep lights dim in the evening to support natural sleep rhythms
- Practicing deep breathing or relaxation before bed
7. Involve Family and Care Teams
Active aging is most successful when it involves teamwork, no matter the time of year. Both caregivers and ALF staff play a crucial role in motivating residents and identifying early signs of mobility changes. You can encourage teamwork by:
- Hosting a holiday movement morning to start the day with light stretching to seasonal music.
- Having loved ones help seniors hang ornaments, wrap gifts, or decorate common areas
- Hosting a holiday recognition event where residents, staff, and families share personal achievements, such as improved balance or increased independence.

How Occupational Therapy Helps Seniors Stay Independent Year-Round
Maintaining independence is one of the most important goals for seniors, especially those living in assisted living facilities. Sobe Rehab’s occupational therapy services play a key role in making that possible, with an emphasis on helping older adults continue doing the daily activities that bring comfort, confidence, and purpose.
Our OTs work with each person’s unique abilities and surroundings to create a plan that supports independence in meaningful ways.
Five Ways Occupational Therapy Makes Daily Living Easier and Safer
We teach smarter ways to move.
- Occupational therapists teach seniors how to use energy-saving techniques, such as sitting while dressing or organizing tasks efficiently, so they can stay active throughout the day without tiring easily.
We strengthen balance and confidence.
- Gentle coordination and balance exercises help residents move safely and comfortably, reducing the risk of falls and increasing freedom of movement within their community.
We make daily activities easier.
- Our therapists can recommend and train seniors to use helpful tools such as grab bars, reachers, and adaptive utensils. These small adjustments make routine tasks, such as bathing, cooking, and eating, simpler and safer.
We support memory and focus.
- Cognitive exercises and problem-solving activities help residents stay sharp, organized, and engaged in daily life, improving their ability to manage routines independently.
We guide caregivers and facility staff.
- By training care partners in supportive techniques, our therapists ensure that seniors receive the right level of help, encouraging independence while maintaining safety and comfort.

Mission Statement:
Our mission is to deliver a stronger future for seniors in assisted living facilities. The Sobe Rehab 10-step proactive, comprehensive, PT/OT/ST therapy model restores senior independence and quality of life. In ALFs, this translates into improved length of stay and retention, on average 4 years for our patients. This enhances their freedom and happiness while increasing the ALF census exponentially. As the saying goes, “It’s not the days in your life, but the life in your days.”
