Big News for 2026: Now Accepting HMO and Managed Care Plans!
We’re kicking off the new year with some exciting news: as of January 1st, Sobe Rehab will be accepting an expanded list of HMO and managed care insurance plans for eligible therapy services. This update means more residents in assisted living communities across Florida, Alabama, and Georgia will receive consistent, high-quality care right where they live.
As always, our focus remains the same: providing effective physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to patients in assisted living facilities, senior living communities, and retirement communities.

The Services We Offer
Our expanded network enables us to deliver even more consistent and effective care to seniors in assisted living facilities. Here’s an overview of everything that we offer, all to help our patients meet the real-life goals that matter most to them:
Physical Therapy
Our PT services focus on building stronger movement and steady balance, which are crucial elements in improving the quality of life for seniors. Some of the methods we use include:
- Progressive strength training to aid in standing, walking, and transfers
- Balance training to help steady the body during turns, reaching, and stepping
- Gait training to improve walking pattern, step length, and foot clearance
- Endurance building to enhance stamina for daily tasks
- Fall prevention routines to support steadier movement overall
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy focuses on providing our patients with the skills needed for daily life. With OT, we aim to help seniors navigate their day with greater ease. This might include:
- Task-specific practice to enhance the ability to perform daily activities like dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Energy conservation strategies to help residents do more with less fatigue
- Training in adaptive tools like reachers or grip support
- Home and room safety checks
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy supports much more than speech. It enhances overall communication, helps improve cognitive skills, and can ensure safer swallowing. Some of our methods include:
- Communication strategies, such as simple tools for word-finding, clearer speech, and better conversation flow
- Cognitive-communication training to improve focus, memory, and problem-solving skills
- Swallowing support to ensure safe swallowing techniques, pacing, and positioning
- Caregiver and staff coaching to make daily interactions smoother
Expanded Access. Same Dependable Care.

3 Simple Wellness Tips for Healthy New Year’s Resolutions
Do you use the new year as an annual health seminar with yourself? Here’s a list of 3 simple wellness tips. Hopefully, these will make picking an easily attainable goal less daunting and more enjoyable. Cheers to a healthy and happy new year.
1. Drink half your body weight in ounces of water
If you weigh 160 pounds, you should drink 80 ounces of water. When the body is dehydrated, it doesn’t run efficiently. Drinking water has plenty of benefits including increasing energy, flushing out toxins, improving skin complexion and boosting immunity, to name a few.
2. Start the morning with a hydrating warm drink
Many people choose warm water and lemon because of its pleasant taste. Apple cider vinegar concoctions that rehydrate and influence the body’s alkaline state, which has been noted for added health benefits, are also popular. Drink these before coffee and breakfast for instant energy, likely from the rehydration process.

3. Be active daily
Aim for 30 minutes of activity daily. Break it up throughout the day: 10 minutes before work, 10 minutes afterwards and 10 minutes home with the kids.
If a long-term resolution seems daunting, aim for new measurable goals monthly. Think short-term and create a new goal every month. For instance, come up with an idea like drink homemade juices or smoothies five days a week or don’t eat packaged snacks for a month. It doesn’t seem like such a life overhaul if you add or eliminate a certain food for just 30 days. Plus, if you get into the rhythm of it, you might continue. Or if not, you can try a new goal the next month.
Happy New Year and always remember to check with your doctor or physical therapist when making changes to your lifestyle.
Our Patients Get Great Results
“Wanted to give some feedback on Bernita Jackson. She worked with my mom at Gold Choice, and by far, she was the best of anyone that had ever worked with her. On top of that, she kept me informed on her status and progress. Bernita did an amazing job, and I thank her for all she did. She was so supportive and helpful, along with having such a great personality, working with our mom.
Thank you, Bernita!!”

- 1 cup cranberries (thawed if frozen), plus more for garnish
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon orange bitters
- 1 750-ml bottle sparkling non-alcoholic dry wine, chilled
- Seltzer, chilled, for topping

Mission Statement:
Our mission is to deliver a stronger future for seniors in assisted living facilities. The Sobe Rehab 10-step proactive, comprehensive, PT/OT/ST therapy model restores senior independence and quality of life. In ALFs, this translates into improved length of stay and retention, on average 4 years for our patients. This enhances their freedom and happiness while increasing the ALF census exponentially. As the saying goes, “It’s not the days in your life, but the life in your days.”
